PHILOSOPHY
CHAIR
No. 21
Angels are creatures who cannot always be seen.
The thematic of the visible and not visible has appealed to me because it is
one of the basic problems of art. You can feel something, see it, believe in
it and as a matter of that know it. It is well known that art has the function
of making the non visible being seen. Angels are creatures who differ in their
structure from human beings. Therefore they are visible and perceptible only
sometimes. Art can bring us this visibility and perceptibility closer. It builds
bridges from the perceptible to the visible. It tries to explain the immaterial
through the material. This chair implies function as well as the materialization
of the thoughts of sitting. The chair is decorated and painted. It is wrapped
in transparent foil to show the difference between visibility and perceptibility.
